Lots of news this time around. I suppose the most important thing is, I deleted the "old" site today that was located at spiffle.com/webthing, so many visitors are getting a custom 404 not found page and probably ending up here. I hope you like the new look and design.
Second bit of news is for anyone in the web master / web design / web development business. It's a tip. I subscribe to what is probably the best magazine on the planet, ever, for web developers. It is called Cre@te Online, and even at $20 Canadian a copy (newsstand price) it is definitely worth the money. I subscribe to it, and just renewed my subscription (tho I have 4 issues left on the old one). A year's subscription to N. America (it is a UK magazine) is 72 British Pounds, and totally worth it.
Why? Because this is cutting edge stuff, my man. Where most N. American publications out of the ZDNet empire et al are staid, totally "advertiser friendly" and full of fluff, Cre@te Online has serious meat. Topical interviews with webdevs you've either heard of or never heard of (but shoud have), tons of photos, reviews of sites, cutting edge technique news, and while there is some techie talk, this is a designer's mag at heart. I subscribe to about 8 magazines each month, 4 of them Net related, but only one of them gets read cover to cover each month - and it is this one. And no, I'm not making a dime off of telling you about it :-) Check it out for sure.
And lastly, some sad news about one of my Kyosho Mini Z cars... I kilt it. I ran it just a bit too hard, and somehow did double damage to the red bimmer - breaking the internal lock in of the body work (the parts that keep the engine attached to the outer body), AND I managed to screw up the diff gearing real bad, so it grinds like crazy. All this after I got the new hop up motor that makes these puppies zoom off at over 20mph! Arg. Now I have to use one of the new "shiney" bodies I recently bought for display only. Poor me, eh?
