Working the Web
This section was set up to feature my so so tips and techniques (in other words, take them for what they're worth) for creating web pages. There are much better sources on the net that this small compendium, and one of my favorites is Lance "Rodriguez" Arthur's Design-o-Rama site, which not only brims with information, but shows you that Lance and his alter egos have way too much time on their hands <grin>.
To the right you'll find several links. The first two are to my own design companies. Visit them I need the work. <shameless plug> The others are little bits and pieces I've compiled to help the starting web artisan build his or her first pages. You'll probably notice two things in my writings - first, that I consider personal pages a work of art, no matter what they look like, and second, I deal more with concepts and theories than actual hands on stuff.
I feel it's more important for you to really think a bit about your work of art before you build upon it. What do you want to do with your page? Is it for you own fun and exasperation, or do you want a page so you can become famous? All these things need to be given some thought, and hopefully, my stuff here will help you out.
Credit Where Credit is Due Department
I got my inspiration for this design mainly from Stephanie Burr, but also from Lance Arthur. But I didn't cheat - I refused to look at their code. I hacked this from scratch, which is the only way I would have done this page. |

My own company, that site is getting old - I hope it doesn't say anything too bad that my personal site looks better. I'm working on a new version, and it's here for now. |
